Bringing AI to Life in Our Classroom

Today, we created an AI-integrated lesson with my team. Along with my friends Mehmet Emin Tümen and Yusuf Eren Tunç, we designed a plan for 9th-grade high school students, using tools like Padlet, Speechify, and Magic School to make learning more interactive and exciting.

We based our lesson plan based on ASSURE model:ASSURE

We started with Padlet, where students paired up to write dialogues based on everyday scenarios, such as making a hotel reservation or visiting a doctor. It was to see how creative they are. Next, we used Speechify to bring their work to life. The dialogues were transformed into audio using well-known voices, allowing students to focus on pronunciation and intonation in a way they hadn’t before. Finally, Magic School provided feedback on their writing, helping them to enhance their language skills and learn from their mistakes.

The reflection phase was just as important. Students shared which tools they enjoyed most, what they found challenging, and how they might use these tools in the future. This whole process showed us just how powerful AI can be in transforming language learning.
