A Semester of Discovery and Creativity

Hi everyone!! I think we have reached the end of our journey. With my conversation with Attila, I've done everything I had to. Before saying goodbye, I want to talk a little about that semester and the Instructional Technologies and Material Design in English Language class.

At first, when I was choosing lectures, I saw that lecture, and actually, I thought that it would be something similar to the Information Technologies that we took last year, but when I heard the activities that we are going to do, I understood that I was totally wrong. Actually, that lecture is different from the others in terms of freedom. Creating a blog that we design according to our tastes is what gave us that freedom. Even though creating a blog was not something interesting for me at first when I look back, we did lots of things and I enjoyed doing them. The most enjoyable task was the digital story for me. Creating a story, preparing pictures for it, editing your video... I enjoyed doing every one of them. Besides enjoyable tasks, that lecture can change lots of people's perspectives on the use of technology in classes. For example, rather than being afraid of advancements in Artificial Intelligence, people can learn how to use it in the correct way. I think technology integration in English Language Teaching is essential because the use of technology provides advantages for both teachers and students. For teachers, if you are creative enough, you can always find a new way to use the technology to teach the target language. There is no limit and technology is advancing every day. For students, time is changing and we can not keep our children away from technology in the age of technology. Instead of doing this, we can teach them how to use technology correctly.

To sum up, that lecture helped me to learn lots of things about technology and different tools that I can use anytime or anywhere in my life. Before finishing, I want to thank our instructor Mr. Mustafa Polat, who helped us a lot. Now it's time to go, there is a summer to enjoy. :))))
